Antipiro

Antipiro, anti-fire additive for wood panelling & timber cladding

Antipiro is a safe and environmentally friendly anti-fire additive, developed by Silvateam. Antipiro presents a new approach to the fireproofing techniques of wood panelling and timber cladding while combining effectiveness, ease of dosing and safety.

Antipiro is composed of salts and other organic compounds available in nature and therefore completely biodegradable. Unlike other additives, it does not contain heavy metals, halogens, borates, ammonium salts and any phosphorus derivatives. Handling of the product is totally safe and the fumes produced by combustion are not dangerous to human health nor the environment.

Antipiro acts as physical and chemical flame inhibitor: subjected to fire, the active ingredients decompose developing carbon dioxide, water vapour and absorbs heat. Furthermore, these compounds prevent the spread of flames over the wood.

If it is properly applied, due to its pH, Antipiro doesn’t affect the setting process of the usual aminoplastic resins, in particular in urea - formaldehyde (UF) and melamine - urea - formaldehyde (MUF). Moreover, you do not have any problems with the final sandpapering of the wood panelling.

Antipiro is available as a liquid concentrate. These characteristics, combined with its remarkable effectiveness, limit the problems and costs concerning the use of usual anti-fire additives.
